I appreciate that appledoc now uses xcrun to execute docsetutil, however I'd appreciate it more if you had deprecated the docsetutil-path switch, instead of making it an error to provide it.

We have several build scripts using appledoc, and multiple machines with it installed. To adopt the latest version of appledoc as-is, I need to update everything at once, and all of my teammates must update appledoc at the same time.

If you instead deprecate the command-line switch, we could upgrade the installed versions of appledoc as convenient, and then remove the switch from the scripts after all the machines have been updated.

If you're able to make this change in the next week, that'd be awesome. Otherwise, feel free to close it un-fixed and we'll manage.

Also consider this a plea to maintain backwards compatibility in the future, where it's cheap to do so.

Hmm, another issue that went unnoticed - sorry for not replying...

I try to keep the tool as backwards compatibly as possible, but sometimes I miss the obvious :) Current version is plagued with regressions, which is another thing I'd like to tackle. I started work on 3.0 (available on experimental branch) which will use more robust unit tests and consequently stricter contribution requirements. Hopefully this will keep the tool more predictable.
