i have installed python-64bit on windows. i have done other things on the forum. And i am working on a localhost. i opened experimental api on the chrome flags. i don't know what is the problem.
Did you have python 3.x? I have tested the script only on python 2.6.
You should not need to set chrome flags, unless you have Chrome that is older than version 18.
What kind of errors you get? In python, or in chrome?
i have installed python 3.2, i don't know the error on python part, and chrome part doesn't give me error. i am using latest chrome.
@emrahatilkan If you can run server.py without error, then it is not python's problem, the python script can only run in python2.
You must write the correct mappings: "URL prefix" and "Local folder" must point to the same folder in your system. Like "file:///home/zhao/Practise/web/" and "/home/zhao/Practise/web/", works on my linux box.
i really don't know how to debug python part. I don't know much python actually.
If python script run sucessfully, it will start a mini HTTP server daemon, the extension need the server to run correctly.
I don't use python on Windows, but I think you should check if python is in your PATH environment, and make sure you installed python2.X, python 2.X and 3.X can exist on your system simultaneous, but you must run server.py by python2.X, and this python doc will be help. http://docs.python.org/faq/windows.html
i believe this is buggy. i installed python 2.7 64bit on 64bit OS. it said it saved the file but didnot save it. Then i installed 32 bit python 2.7 and run the script again. nothing changed. After all, it saying it is saved but doesnt save. Now it gives error, i think the error comes from python part but i can't figure out what to do. preview the error. http://goo.gl/JWy0O
this is taking too much time, i am close to give up.
it worked. You should say that i should restart chrome. And firstly on the blog you should say python version. Not cool.
Can you tell me should i run the script every time i use it. On windows can i close annoying console window.
Yes, you must run the script when you want to use the extension. Surely you can't close the console window, because the console is running as a daemon process used to save the file. The extension author also said the inconvenience is because of chrome browser's security consideration.
ok, thanks you for your help. it is a great extension but hard to init.
