Docker image for python MediaWiki client libraries
Some scripts and configuration options can be found at scripts directory
Building the image:
docker build -t debian-python-mediawiki .
Executing Docker image (we mount /scripts, accessible then from host)
docker run -d -v $PWD/scripts:/scripts --name mwclient debian-python-mediawiki tail -f /dev/null
docker exec -ti mwclient /bin/bash
Built image does not include example scripts. Retrieve them from the repository via a volume, as pointed above.
For convenience, we may have a pre-existing MediaWiki, Semantic-MediaWiki powered, installation.
You can find it at: https://github.com/toniher/docker-SemanticMediaWiki
For building and executing it for first time:
bash smw.sh
- Mwclient Documentation and examples at: http://mwclient.readthedocs.io
Use
docker inspect --format '{{ .NetworkSettings.IPAddress }}' containername
in order to retrieve IP of your container and modify JSON files
Jupyter Notebooks are also provided.
You might decide to mount a different volume for notebooks as well:
docker run -d -p 8888:8888 -v $PWD/scripts:/scripts -v $PWD/notebooks:/notebooks --name mwclient debian-python-mediawiki tail -f /dev/null
For running jupyter from container, you can run within /notebooks directory:
docker exec -ti mwclient /bin/bash
cd /notebooks
jupyter-notebook --no-browser --allow-root --ip 0.0.0.0
or
docker exec mwclient /bin/bash -c "cd /notebooks; jupyter-notebook --no-browser --allow-root --ip 0.0.0.0"
