The ”Passwort“ app takes the web site name, the username and a master password to calculate a password formatted according your settings. With the same set of input values (web site, username, master password and format options), the app will always regenerate same passwords. Since the master password is your secret, no one else can reproduce your passwords.

Important: The Passwort App passes the three string parameters with ASCII encoding. It converts diacritical letters, such as umlauts into their base character (e.g. å, ä, â -> a). The test data file do contain diacritical characters. This is on intention in order to make sure, the conversion to base character works.
