Mastodon allows Polls with up to 4 options, OR it permits some N number of image or media attachments. But it does not permit both in the same toot.

The brief suggestion is: allow media in polls. :)

For some applications or usages, one wishes to present visual information to the reader and then ask for feedback or answers. For example, I discovered this limitation when trying to build a bot for crowdsourcing labelled image datasets!

The idea for the bot is to have a queue of images that are presented to followers as polls, where they can vote for the relevance of certain tags in the image. I was also going to handle text content, so I can do that with a link or a quoted region, but images are definitely a desired feature for this bot.

Even if it's just for "is my meme good or not" polls, I think this feature would allow a lot of rich interaction between people using the polls feature, for humour, crowdsourcing, or citizen science.

Per @halcy's request, I opened an issue over at on the basis that failure to post media should throw an exception: halcy/
