Error pages should list alternative account(s) of admins #11048
Currently the error page is just the sad elephant gif, right? But when the site is down and all the pages are sad elephant gifs, there is no way to look at /about to get alternative contact details for admins.
The sad elephant page should say "Here are the alternative accounts for admins, so you can see whether they know about the downtime and check for instance status updates."
And then maybe a back-up account elsewhere on the fediverse and/or a Twitter account.
Anyone whose instance is down (like me for queer.party right now) has no way of finding their admin elsewhere to know whether the outage is likely to last a long time, whether the admin knows about it, etc. All the places I normally get instance info from are on the instance, which is broken. I'm totally in the dark and it's alarming.
I'm not sure they're the same thing. Like, contact info is good if you want to actually privately interact with the admin, but what I'm asking about is a place to check the status of the server and see what the admin is broadcasting, in another (back-up) location.
If it was another fediverse account or a Twitter account then it would be interactive and would allow for DMs, but that's not the primary reason. I want to be able to go somewhere and see a tweet or a toot from another instance like "hi I'm the admin of [instance], I'm aware that the instance is down and I'm working on fixing it, it'll hopefully be back in x hours" or something.
I don't want to email the admin and bother them about something that a bunch of other people are probably bothering them about, you know?
