I'd like to contribute to increase test coverage. So to start I've enabled a test coverage report.

Thanks for offering to help improve our test coverage. I'll check in a .coveragerc, but I don't think the tests should print coverage output on every run just because the coverage package is installed. In general I'd rather run things like this from outside the test suite rather than inside it: "coverage run -m tornado.test.runtests; coverage report".
