The VM_BUG_ON was added by the patch "mm,numa: reorganize
change_pmd_range". The race existed without the patch but was just harder
to hit.

The problem is that a transhuge check is made without holding the PTL.
It's possible at the time of the check that a parallel fault clears the
pmd and inserts a new one which then triggers the VM_BUG_ON check. This
patch removes the VM_BUG_ON but fixes the race by rechecking transhuge
under the PTL when marking page tables for NUMA hinting and bailing if a
race occurred. It is not a problem for calls to mprotect() as they hold
mmap_sem for write.

The function hso_serial_common_free() is called either by the cleanup
method of the tty or by the usb disconnect method.
In the former case, the usb_disconnect() has been already called
and the sysfs group associated to the device has been removed.
By calling tty_unregister directly from the usb_disconnect() method,
we avoid a warning due to the removal of the sysfs group of the usb
device.

Example of warning:

As commit 1effd9f ("sched/numa: Fix unsafe get_task_struct() in
task_numa_assign()") points out, the rcu_read_lock() cannot protect the
task_struct from being freed in the finish_task_switch(). And the bug
happens in the process of calculation of imp which requires the access of
p->numa_faults being freed in the following path:

do_exit()
        current->flags |= PF_EXITING;
    release_task()
        ~~delayed_put_task_struct()~~
    schedule()
    ...
    ...
rq->curr = next;
    context_switch()
        finish_task_switch()
            put_task_struct()
                __put_task_struct()
		    task_numa_free()

The fix here to get_task_struct() early before end of dst_rq->lock to
protect the calculation process and also put_task_struct() in the
corresponding point if finally the dst_rq->curr somehow cannot be
assigned.

Modify spi_imx_clkdiv_2() to return the resulting bus clock frequency
when the selected clock divider is applied. Set spi_imx->spi_bus_clk to
this frequency.

If spi_bus_clk is unset, spi_imx_calculate_timeout() causes a
division by 0.

ICSR RETTOBASE bit indicates whether there is any active exception other
than the exception indicated by current value of IPSR. Existing code
already makes use of it to find whether interrupt occurred during
user(thread) mode. Add preemption support in the code path that executes
upon finding an active exception other than the current interrupt.

Having an active exception during interrupt exception indicates that
the interrupt occurred during SVC or PendSV with current Linux exception
setup. On PendSV, interrupts are disabled at exception entry (applicable
to all) & enabled back just before returning from exception. Hence it
has been assumed that active exception during interrupt is indicating
SVC interruption. This would have to be revisited.

With this change, there is some effect, but not enough to make it
usable, this is being debugged.

A simple character driver that does infinite while loop during read was
used to test it as follows (/dev/mymisc corresponds to the node for the
character driver),

A. Before this change,

A.1
~ # cat /dev/mymisc
[   28.099225] mymisc_open
[   28.101625] mymisc_read: enter

command prompt is not usable (expected), interrupts do happen during
this time.

A.2
~ # cat /dev/mymisc &
[1] 39 cat /dev/mymisc
~ # [   11.699880] mymisc_open
[   11.702274] mymisc_read: enter

command prompt is not usable (expected as preemption not supported).

B. After this change,

B.1
~ # cat /dev/mymisc
[   27.374821] mymisc_open
[   27.377349] mymisc_read: enter

though user will not get control back (as expected as it is fg process),
entering on prompt causes new line, doesn't know what to make out of
this behaviour, this doesn't happen in the A.1 case. Interrupts happen
here as well.

B.2
~ # cat /dev/mymisc &
[1] 41 cat /dev/mymisc
~ # [   44.836417] mymisc_open
[   44.838814] mymisc_read: enter

though prompt is available under the control of user, upon typing
anything on the prompt (typed character doesn't get echoed), it crashes
as follows,

[   44.838814] mymisc_read: enter

It is a Usage Fault happening while in thread(user) mode. PC & LR in the
dump is strange in the sense that they do not point to text section.

The change here has been made based on how Cortex-A handles preemption.
Since PAN is not applicable and since it seemed that saving & restoring
thread_info::addr_limit does not make difference on the !MMU Cortex-M
due to single address space being used, there was no additional save &
restore of 'dacr' & 'addr_limit' as done in the case of interrupt during
system call on Cortex-A. Also as DUT was UP Cortex-M4, it seemed that
cache related would not affect in anyway w.r.t preemption, as currently
cache is not enabled for M4 in Linux.

As mentioned above, it was assumed that active exception during
interrupt meant SVC was interrupted, though it could have been PendSV as
well. To ensure that issue is not due to interrupt during PendSV, the
PendSV handling of pending work was lifted & sticked onto __irq_entry
and setting PendSV removed as well. Still the behaviour is same.

On a system configured to trigger a crash_kexec() reboot, when only one CPU
is online and another CPU panics while starting-up, crash_smp_send_stop()
will fail to send any STOP message to the other already online core,
resulting in fail to freeze and registers not properly saved.

Moreover even if the proper messages are sent (case CPUs > 2)
it will similarly fail to account for the booting CPU when executing
the final stop wait-loop, so potentially resulting in some CPU not
been waited for shutdown before rebooting.

A tangible effect of this behaviour can be observed when, after a panic
with kexec enabled and loaded, on the following reboot triggered by kexec,
the cpu that could not be successfully stopped fails to come back online:

Make crash_smp_send_stop() account also for the online status of the
calling CPU while evaluating how many CPUs are effectively online: this way
the right number of STOPs is sent and all other stopped-cores's registers
are properly saved.

Noltari pushed a commit to Noltari/linux that referenced this pull request Mar 25, 2020
commit f50b7da upstream.

A tangible effect of this behaviour can be observed when, after a panic
with kexec enabled and loaded, on the following reboot triggered by kexec,
the cpu that could not be successfully stopped fails to come back online:

mrchapp pushed a commit to mrchapp/linux that referenced this pull request Mar 25, 2020
commit f50b7da upstream.

Make crash_smp_send_stop() account also for the online status of the
calling CPU while evaluating how many CPUs are effectively online: this way
the right number of STOPs is sent and all other stopped-cores's registers

commit f50b7da upstream.

…fully

During system counter frequency change, the counter will stop, it
takes several mS even up to 20mS to finish the frequency change, if
system enters STOP mode before the frequency change done, system
counter will NOT run during STOP mode, then it will case system time
inaccurate and sometimes cause below RCU stall, so system can ONLY
enter STOP mode after the system counter frequency change done by
checking the ACK of frequency change.

Add a definition of DAB/FM sound card:
 - SPI on ECSPI1, reset on GPIO05_I09 (torvalds#105)
 - DAI link on SAI6
 - bit & ws clocks from ADC
 - SAI2 enabled to provide MCLK for ADC, but bit & ws clocks slave

Based on: POC by Tony Gao <tony.gao@streamunlimited.com>

For this to work reliably, only the ADC should provide I2S clocks,
SAI1, SAI2 and SAI6 being slaves on RX side. All three, or at least
two (depending on AUX/HDMI_SWITCH) are connected to ADC in StreamKit
1955.
At the same time, SAI2 has to provide continuous master clock for ADC.
