If I type :Vo ftp/git<Tab>, I can't autocomplete. If I'm in ~/.vim and I type :e ftplugin/git<Tab>, vim converts my forward slash to a backward slash.

Using Win7 x64.

VIM - Vi IMproved 7.3 (2010 Aug 15, compiled Oct 27 2010 17:59:02)
MS-Windows 32-bit GUI version with OLE support
Included patches: 1-46

Hm. Looking into this more I found that if I use :set shellslash, I have completion again. (And vim now uses forward slashes to delimit paths).

So it's not a bother for me, but it still differs from vim's behavior. (Vim converts the slash for you.)

Does :Vopen ftp\git<Tab> work as expected? If so, it should be a simple fix.

Yes. If I used a backslash, then it worked as expected.

I took a blind stab at it. Let me know if it doesn't work.

I use shellslash now, but I turned it off and tried out your patch and it's great! Converts / to \ just like vim.
Thanks a lot!
