Not an Editor Command error

I am a beginner to both vim and rails and I have been trying to use vim for rails project development.

So I ran "rake install" in the terminal to install rails.vim and everything seemed to be just fine.

But when I launched vim and try to use :Rails and other commands, vim always throws back a "Not an Editor Command" error. I was able to let :Rails! correctly shows the version (4.3) but just not the rest of the commands. Can anyone see where's the problem?

I m launched vim in rails application folder
I opened this file

:e config/environment.rb

then I m trying
:Rails! , :Rmodel, :Rails new name
And result is always - not an editor command

Plugin files in home dir/.vim/plugin/rails.vim and etc...
I also tried to copy plugin files directly in vim73 directory in /usr/share/vim/vim73 - it also does not help

sure. It located at ~/.vim/autoload/rails.vim

Also, I tried all thesame on windows. And I still have: not an editor command.
Maybe that's because I use gVim ?

I can't imagine gvim being relevant. What does :echo rails#app() do?

What I did:

1. :cd /projects/Codechan
2. :e config/environment.rb
3. :echo rails#app()

Errors - unknown function and wrong expression

It seems like vim not loading plugin. But why?? Everything must be fine.

ps: console version of vim can't execute this commands too

oh, problem solved.

I added "set nocompatible" in .vimrc and it's start to work!
