Raspberry Pi Debian Jessie:

sudo apt-get install gcc-arm-none-eabi binutils-arm-none-eabi libusb-1.0 \
libnewlib-arm-none-eabi make curl python-requests

In addition to the notes above, install the following pip package, in order to get cable to work.
Installing pyusb doesn't seem to work ootb, tried it on many rpis. Instead, refer to v1.0.0b1, as shown:
sudo pip install pyusb==1.0.0b1
