Crazy idea. I'm posting this to gauge interest since it was suggested by API evangelist. Would anybody be interested in something like a "test tab"?

Code examples in this tab would be replaced by a swagger-like interface for submitting actual API requests and seeing their responses.

This would be very cool!
Then again, you probably knew I'd say that ;)

👍 This would be a great feature. I'd like to have something like this too.

Google calls theirs API explorer it even lets you go through OAuth and and uses the token against the APIs.

+11.5 for a SwaggerUI-like "Try it" button :-)

+1M... That would make me completely remove all the swagger UI installs... 👍

This is probably the only reason I have doubts about using Slate :) Nobody seems to like Swagger UI.

This package can make implementation faster: https://github.com/swagger-api/swagger-js

+1 I agree with @oytuntez that this is the best thing about swagger and would be excellent in slate.

Is there any way to achieve this currently for a RESTful API that can be accessed with basic-auth and GET/POST requests?

I think that although there is demand for this, it'd best be implemented in some sort of extension or add-on to Slate, since it'd be difficult to cover all the cases in which it'd be needed or used, and I'd rather not have Slate become bloated from too many add-on features.
