About

A library for extracting colors from text. Or indeed converting color names to hex and hex to color names.

Install

gem install spectrum

Examples

Converting hex to color name

Spectrum.get_name('#FF0000') => 'Red'

Converting color name to hex

Spectrum.get_hex('blue') => '#0000FF'

Extracting colors from a paragraph

Spectrum.extract_colors('I love the color red, blue is awful') => [['Red', '#FF0000'], ['Blue', '#0000FF']]

Adding custom colors

Spectrum.custom_colors = {"Blood" => "#FF1000", "Sea" => "#0000FF"}
