• I updated uBO to the latest versions (1.53+) <== The extension itself, for technical improvements. You do this in your browser.

• I removed custom config / reset to defaults. <== This means removing your custom filters (or disabling My filters) and disabling ALL additional lists you've enabled manually. It might be quicker to make a backup of your config and restore to defaults instead.

• I forced an update of my filter lists. (Click the "Purge all caches" button while holding the 'Shift' key, then click the "Update now" button.)

• I completely disabled ALL other extensions AND browser's built-in blockers. <== No need to uninstall, just disable them. They might interfere with our solutions.

Some browsers with built-in blockers to turn off

• Opera, Vivaldi, Brave
• Edge: Click on "lock" icon at the left of URL bar -> Turn off Tracking Prevention

• I did not remove any of the default filter lists, or I have verified that the issue was not caused by removing any of the default lists.

Restarting your browser afterwards may help too.

You most likely disabled cosmetic filtering on the page. Issues are for issues affecting all user or those who use default settings, and are not for user support. Please don't bring your personal problems as we are all volunteers having limited time.

@stephenhawk8054 It seems that i have made some testing with Enhancer for YouTube™ in my uBO only Firefox and i forgot to disable/uninstall it.

So, after disabling Enhancer for YouTube™ (it is enough to turn off Block ads) it won't popup any window from YouTube anymore.

Okay, after further testing, the offending extension for making videos not save their time seems to be Workona Tab Manager. Which is... bad. I am hugely dependent on it to make my browser usable with my tab hoarding habits. I don't know why it's suddenly causing problems when it didn't before.

Ok i disabled enhancer for youtube and purge all caches of ublock and it works

cosmetic filtering is still enabled. I said what I meant, that I literally cannot target anything but thumbnails with the element selector on youtube. This indicates something deeper than a filter issue.

Not necessarily. There are filters that can also disable cosmetic filtering.

Backup your settings, reset to defaults, update filter lists, test. Does it still behave this way? If it doesn't, it's your custom config causing this. You can also try reinstalling the extension. Still happening? Make a new browser profile, install only uBO, update lists, test again. Is the problem gone? If so, then something else on your main profile is causing an issue. Maybe another extension.

I didn't talk about version 1.53 in newer or older chromium versions. Why is there this discussion here?

Version 1.53 is not available for someone simply because it's being rolled gradually. Is it clear?

Again, I'm not the one who's in control of the extension released in the store. Please, don't ask me about this thing. WHAT CAN I DO?

@palikacska It's because the version is not released to 100% everyone once they are out of github. It has to be:

• Reviewed by the stores,
• Rolled out gradually because both the extensions and the stores need any serious bugs to be caught as soon as possible

Is it clear?

If it's not clear for you, I'm out of this conversation. If you want to push the volunteers that hard, fine, until there's no volunteers to help this project.

@10522 please do not use "filters on the Internet". I can't speak to those specific filters, but in general:

• they may not work at all, or they may cause breakage
• they may have previously worked, but stopped working when YouTube updated their anti-blocker
• they will conflict with the fixes stephenhawk8054 has implemented

As of currently, the best solution is to install the latest version of uBo and update your filterlists.
