Right now, we deploy continuously. it seems occasional releases have been done in the past, but nothing consistent, and we do not have any tooling in place to support it (e.g building tagged versions, #491 , etc.)

Would a more formal release process be valuable?

Personally I think given that we are geared towards deploying to the Launch Pad environment, this doesn't really matter right now, unless we place a renewed emphasis on #203 and start pushing Rocket to other organizations.
