I came across the following in a translation that may have been edited in an old version of ParaTExt.

\c 142
\cl 142. Mezmur \x - \xo 142:0 \xt 1Sa.22:1; 24:3\x*
\d Davut'un Maskili - Mağaradayken ettiği dua

The location of the cross-reference note in the text for the chapter label was unexpected.

I need to know whther this was ever allowed and whether it is still permitted?

Aside: The unexpected location caused an issue for a conversion script.

According to usfm.sty, cl does not occur in the OccursUnder list for \x, therefore it is not allowed. Of course that doesn't stop people trying ;)
