A list of small issues found by the team working on the polish version of the FG was sent to us earlier this year.

These are the issues I've validated as still needing to be addressed:

  • Introduction:
    • Jurag Hromkovic should almost certainly be Juraj Hromkovic
  • Programming Languages:
    • We say there are 0.6 kilometers in a mile but that is actually the number of miles in a kilometer
    • Hello World program in hundreds of programming languages in further reading is automatically redirected to a different site
  • Data Representation:
    • Consider a more complicated but educational ASCII table such as this one
  • Computer Graphics
    • In graphics transformations the link Math in Sight - Matrix vector multiplication should be https (not http)
    • In the drawing lines and circles subsection - using a formula to draw a line. One of the solutions has two formulae right next to each other, so they look like just one (they should be one above the other).
      • Also consider using \aprox instead of equals
  • Formal languages:
    • Links to the Manufactoria game do not work
  • Software Engineering:
    • in agile software development, a link to another video here does not work (the user's account was deleted)

Other issues I'm not sure about are listed here:

  • Glossary
    • We have a problem with Polish lexicographical order: all Polish letters come first (erroneously).

  • PDF version of the field guide:
    • It would be great to have a table of contents, with links to chapters.

    • It looks a little bit strange that every button of the online version corresponds to two consecutive links in the pdf version. The two links have different descriptions but lead to the same place.

For example:
{button link="http://www.csfieldguide.org.nz/releases/1.9.9/_static/widgets/COMPRESSION/LWZ/public_html/index.html" text="View compression interactive"}
corresponds to
"View compression interactive" and "View the link online at ..."
