It may also be interesting to add JHOVE validation for some formats, although realistically this will probably need to take a random sampling approach rather than processing every single resource.

JHOVE supports a range of formats including HTML ( < 5), and tracking validity over time may tell us something about standards adoption. Of course, JHOVE not perfect, and we should perhaps consider wrapping up a W3C validator (Validator etc. possible via Unicorn) somehow.

However, it's not clear how much it will actually tell us about preserving access, as browser features and support are more important factors overall. Consequently, it's not clear whether all this is really worth the effort.
