Problem

We need to be able to track campaign activity so that we can report the success of lead generation activity.

As an example, we will often provide a campaign URL to third parties. The URL of this page will be extended using Google’s campaign URL builder. https://ga-dev-tools.appspot.com/campaign-url-builder/. The resulting URL

We would like to be able to track and store the campaign URL of the page in which a form is inserted.

Ideally we would capture the referring URL by default. The referring URL would be stored in the system as per the below.

campaignurl

Thanks
Lorraine :-)

Hello, I just wrote a post on a way you might go about doing this:

Thank you! What a star you are!

We thought that creating hidden fields would be the way to go but ideally we would like to remove the need to do so. It's not intuative to editors that they need to create hidden fields and hopefully could become unnecessary. :-)

Hiya @Ultradata-CXP,

Just wanted to let you know that we noticed that this issue got a bit stale and might not be relevant any more.

We will close this issue for now but we're happy to open it up again if you think it's still relevant (for example: it's a feature request that's not yet implemented, or it's a bug that's not yet been fixed).

To open it this issue up again, you can write @umbrabot still relevant in a new comment as the first line. It would be super helpful for us if on the next line you could let us know why you think it's still relevant.

For example:

@umbrabot still relevant
This bug can still be reproduced in version x.y.z

This will reopen the issue in the next few hours.

Thanks, from your friendly Umbraco GitHub bot 🤖 🙂
