Select any example, or type your own. The diagram will appear as expected. Then select all text and hit delete.

Nothing happens! This is a critical problem that was introduced some time in the last month or two.

'Restore from browser', which also replaces the entire text, also does not trigger a diagram update; I am including this in this issue since I think there is a good chance it is related.

This may be related to #1757, and a fix here may fix that too.
