The Today symbol (i.e. '!today') is very convenient, but in our test we often need to work with larger increments than days. We want to generate a date 4 months in the past of future, or even ten years.
We've created our own SymbolType subclass based on Today, but this involved a lot of code duplication from Today, and it broke on upgrades of Fitnesse. It would be great if the Today class was a bit more extensible, so that supporting increments with another unit than DAY_OF_MONTH would be easier.
(Of course it would be even better if !today supported a unit for its increment, but that seems a bit harder to achieve, and might break current usages of !today.)
