As a preface, I wish to apologize in advance to @sctyner and @shelmich for asking questions in what will be excruciating detail.

My paranoia is fueled by the fact that we will be starting on a Sunday morning; if we have surprises at the time, they may be more difficult to sort out.

The times that we have reserved for instruction are 10-5, with a lunch break. I also understand that we may congregate earlier for coffee and introductions (possibly 9?).

When will we be able to get into the room for setup? Could we do this at 9AM?

How hard a deadline is 5PM? For example, would it present a problem if we ended up running a little late, until say 5:20?

Are there any restrictions on bringing food/drink into the classroom? Will we plan to serve lunch in the classroom?

How will WiFi work? Is there a shared guest account, or will we need to sign-up individually? At some Schneider Electric sites, we have to submit a request for each person, then they are emailed the credentials; this is the source of this particular worry :) Of course, any of the methods can be made to work, but it may be handy to make sure in advance.

Please feel free to add any worries that I may have neglected :)

Thanks!

Ian your paranoia mind for preparedness is asking a lot of good questions.

Let's aim for:

  • Getting access to the venue at 8:45am so we can set up and get coffee.
  • Leaving the venue by 6pm at the latest.

Hopefully, @shelmich can arrange this. If not, we can adjust our start/end time.

AFAIK the room was selected because we could have food in it. Correct me if I'm wrong, Sam.

The WiFi question was also one I had. Again, this is a Sam H question. Once the WiFi stuff is figured out we'll have to think of the best way to share that info with participants.

Hi @sctyner and @shelmich,

Do we know if we have these set? In particular:

  • can we get in at 8:45am, and be out by 6pm?
  • do we plan to eat lunch in the classroom?
  • will we have to do anything special for the WiFi?

We are planning to finalize our day-zero schedule at a meeting on Tuesday afternoon (Apr. 2); knowing this will help us set and prioritize our topics for the day.

Thanks,

Ian
