IE8 - can't close notifications #638

It looks like this is because of the way ie8 is rendering things.

With CSS we are moving the text of .close a off the screen, and adding the fontello X to the .close div. I think that because the a tag is under the .close div, the X is not clickable.

Does anyone have suggestions on how to fix this?

Bumping this. It is still an issue even in ie10.
