After updating Chrome, an unwanted space adjacent to the breadcrumb arrow has appeared at various widths.

My hunch is that this is caused by Chrome's recently added support for subpixel layout of borders.

By replacing right: 0; and transform: translateX(100%); with left: 100%;, the unwanted space goes away. So does an extra line (or two, counting vendor prefixes) of code!

Breadcrumb arrow layout fix
Rather than position right and apply a transform, simply position left 100%.
