A task is set to be reminded as follows: - [ ] Task (@2021-08-28 12:00). After changing the reminder to be one week after, it would become - [ ] Task (@2021-09-04), where the time disappears.

It is my expected behavior.
I feel strict time management(with time info) is not needed because I'm using another Calendar services.
When I choose Remind me later, I just want to postpone the task (e.g, I'm busy, or task not finished...).
I like this style because @2021-09-04 is more simple than @2021-08-28 12:00.

Could you tell me your use case?

(Of course, your suggested feature can be optionally provided with settings!)

Sure. I am using Fantastical as a Calendar app. It also supports syncing tasks from reminder apps like Todoist.

  • If a synced reminder with time info, Reminder A, is not marked as done yesterday, it would be automatically moved to today at the same time in Fantastical.
  • Of course, the actual date info associated with Reminder A would not change in Todoist or Fantastical. It is just displayed on today in Fantastical.
  • I find this way of handing reminders natural, as there is a time info in the original reminder.

(Of course, your suggested feature can be optionally provided with settings!)

Therefore, it would be great to have such an option in settings for the user to choose if one wants to keep the time info or not. 😃

Yes, I understand this. In fact, I also do it similarly, i.e., one only puts events/reminders that have to happen on a specific date or at a specific time in the Calendar. This is also what GTD method suggests regarding how to use Calendar.

Regarding how to use this Reminder plugin, I would imagine using it for tasks that have lower priorities, i.e. those not have to happen at a specific time or date, than those in the Calendar. So, there should not be a conflict in my use case.

Therefore, in my use case, it would still be useful to move reminders without losing the time info.

Thanks a lot for sharing your use case.
I understand your situation(using with other apps).
I'll consider to introduce new setting soon.
