Encoding UTF-8 Python stdout

Hyper.app version: 1.4.8 stable

Issue

'charmap' codec can't encode character '\u015f' in position 311: character maps to <undefined>

Seem to experience this despite having encoding set and environment variable set. Don't experience this on default cmd.

Did you also set env variable for I/O encoding?
export PYTHONIOENCODING=utf-8

I used to get the same error in other terminals, and setting this variable was the fix.

I have a similar problem. I have this error when importing calliope python package :
UnicodeDecodeError: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xc2 in position 2509: ordinal not in range(128)

I solve it. Add this in my environment variables of my .hyper.js

  config: {
// ....
env: {
      LANG: 'es_PE.UTF-8' // Or en_US.UTF-8 ... etc
    },
