show a tooltip with error for a particular line... #62

... when I hover over the error icon for this line or when I press some keyboard combo.


  • with the mouse hover, I don't have to remember the keyboard combo. I imagine not everybody does.
  • in those cases when there's craploads of errors for this file, I don't have to search for this line in the popup.

Yes, this would be extremely helpful. It is quite annoying to know that there is an error on a line but not knowing what it is.

The Sublime Text API doesn't allow for tooltips, it has been suggested over 2 years ago, but the dev never adds new useful features.

I did not know that. That's too bad. Also, I just realised that the error text is displayed in the status bar when the cursor is placed on the line with the error. So a tooltip is not actually needed. Thanks!

Unfortunately, I'm having to close this due to lack of required API.
