I like the behaviour of the :tab drop /my/file command, which opens /my/file in a new tab or just navigates to it if there already is a window on this buffer.

However, it seems that I cannot get this behaviour for tag navigation, which navigates to the target buffer in the current window only, so it changes its content. Setting switchbuf=newtab seems to have no effect on <C-]>navigation and is not the exact behaviour I need anyway.

Am I missing something? Or is tag drop a missing feature of vim?

Thank you for support anyway :)

(here is a partial workaround we have been naively investigating)
