X Server Crashes (Unrecoverable) When Booting Live CD In Virtualbox #109
Not sure if this should be elsewhere, but it makes sense to put it here, considering this is mklive.
Anyhow, within Virtualbox, on a Void host, booting a Live CD with a GUI environment (any flavor) fails at startx (or whatever DM is set as the Runit service for instantiating the X session- looks like lxdm, from the source code). Can't exit, at that point, to a command prompt, as it continues attempting to start the session (then failing, again, lather, rinse, repeat). Of course, can't boot into safe mode and check logs, because, well, it's a live CD. My guess would be it needs the guest additions installed, for X to see a screen, but, admittedly, that's a shot in the dark, on my part.
This has been the case, for about a year, now, actually (first encountered this in June, 2016). I'm using the most current Virtualbox version and revision available from XBPS (5.1.22_2).
