Something like

const schema = z.object({
  name: z.string().default("A"),
});


schema.getDefaults()

// returns:
{ name: 'A' }

The best way is just to parse an empty object. Note that this will fail unless you've defined a default on every child in the object:

schema.parse({}) // => { name: 'A' }
