requires libftdi be installed:

http://www.intra2net.com/en/developer/libftdi/

for ubuntu use:
sudo apt-get install libftdi-dev


examples:

power off board
omap5-ctrl$ sudo ./omap5-ctrl -p 0
[sudo] password for linuxdev: 
waiting for power off confirmation...
done!

power on board
omap5-ctrl$ sudo ./omap5-ctrl -p 1
[sudo] password for linuxdev: 
waiting for power on confirmation...
done!


It is possible to select the FTDI device more finely by supplying a
description string with option -d. Refer to libftdi documentation of
function ftdi_usb_open_string() for all available formats at
http://www.intra2net.com/en/developer/libftdi/documentation/.
