If I have a timer trigger that is disabled and then change its interval, the hook will run automatically and its commands are executed. /trigger list still shows the trigger as disabled.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create a disabled dummy timer trigger that prints text

    /trigger addoff dummy_timer timer 3000;0;0 "" "" "/print foo"
  2. Check /trigger list just to make sure the trigger is disabled :)

  3. Change its interval

    /trigger set dummy_timer arguments 2000;0;0
  4. The trigger will run and prints foo repeatedly on current buffer.

Running /trigger disable dummy_timer doesn't stop the hook. It has to be enabled first and then disable the trigger again.
