I can confirm that Wesnoth with SDL 2.0.6 has this problem, and 2.0.5 has not. OS is GNU/Linux (X11), wesnoth binary same.
I have noticed similar map edge problems when trying to play To Land Unknown with Wesnoth 1.13 (normally it's not available here), even when SDL was 2.0.4. I didn't recheck with 2.0.5 or 2.0.6 though.
