e.g. it looks like there is "Wii U Pro Controller" support - I don't have one to test, but that might be nice to look into.

The git log for this directory isn't terribly long: https://github.com/devkitPro/libogc/tree/master/wiiuse

The caveat, of course, is that they forked before the last "upstream" (0.12) release.

Well, if you want to merge support for that controller, go ahead. However, I don't have one and I think I have expended my budget for more Wii peripherals by buying that new Wiimote recently. I would hesitate to merge something like this "blindly" with nobody being able to test it because it could easily bork the existing classic controller support.

I have also noticed that they had the -TR support and have done a bit of refactoring/renaming of the sockets - no misleading in and out sockets but control and interrupt. That was something I was thinking about doing too because the current code is confusing.
