my project and Wix-setups are completly running in a 64bit environment. So I try to create a Application Pool for my website via iis:WebAppPool and the surrounding component set to Win64="yes".
It works like a charm, but I discovered a little glitch. If the "Application Pool Defaults" are changed from the default values to "Enable 32-Bit Applications" = true (see attached picture), then the component setting Win64="yes" has no effect anymore. The newly created Application Pool has also enabled the 32bit flag and my website is fail to load.

I'm not sure if this behavior is intended or simply a glitch in passing the necessary information into the newly created AppPool.

The current design assumes that the default isn't changed and only sets the property in app pools that are from 32-bit components. The change would be to always explicitly set the property to the bitness of the component (true for 32-bit and false for 64-bit).

Testing the design now...
