Plank

Plank is a image board written in PHP. The software can be seen in use at: http://chan0.tehlab.org

About

The primary goal of this project is to offer an image board designed to run on free web hosts.

Because Plank is designed to run on free hosts it does not rely on a SQL database. Instead Plank has it's own flat file database format it uses.

Plank has been developed & tested primarily on two versions of PHP:

  • Version 4.3.3
  • Version 7.2.17

Requirements

  • PHP version 4.3.3 or greater
  • Apache web server (for .htaccess files).

It's possible Plank may run on earlier versions of 4 but I havn't been able to test it yet. Eventually I will aim to support 4.0 and greater.

Installation

Installation is simple:

  1. In the inc/ folder rename secrets-example.php to secrets.php
  2. Edit secrets.php and set an admin username and password, for example:
define('ADMIN_USER', 'john');
define('ADMIN_PASSWORD', 'my_password');
  1. Upload all the files as is to your host.

Usage

You can make changes from the admin panel by visiting admin.php in the browser. For example if you have uploaded the files to a server at example.com you would visit example.com/admin.php and enter the credentials you put in secrets.php.

You can’t perform that action at this time.
