A simple user interface for creating new parts for Wokwi:

  1. Import a graphics (SVG) file (in the future - perhaps fritzing file too)
  2. Mark the pin locations, their names, and their connections
  3. Connect the board with one or more simulation models (e.g. ESP32, MPU-6050 or custom logic as suggested in Create new parts (chips, sensors, etc.) with custom logic #301)
  4. Define on-board LEDs and displays (e.g. power LED, WS2812 LED connected to one of the MCU pins, or a touch screen)

Parts 1 and 2 should be done in a visual way. Parts 3/4 - TBD.

Right now, we already have most of this implemented in the wokwi-boards project, but it's not very documented, and I perhaps not user friendly enough, so we don't see any user contributed custom boards. We do see requests and contributions to wokwi-elements, so I believe users want to contribute, but it's not very accessible the way it works right now.
