A wrapper for the signal peptide prediction algorithm SignalP (version 3.0).
Using this bio-gem requires SignalP to be locally installed and configured correctly. www.cbs.dtu.dk/services/SignalP-3.0/ has instructions on how it may be downloaded. This gem requires that the signalp executable is available from the command line (i.e. running 'signalp' works at the command), so the steps to setup
# Download SignalP 3.0 and unpack # Modify the signalp script in the unpacked directory # Add the unpacked directory to your path # install this bioruby plugin (gem install bioruby-signalp)
This bio-gem includes a library for interacting with signalp programmatically, but also (as of version 0.1.1) a script as well.
NOTE: Only tested with SignalP 3.0 at this point. Hopefully 4.0 will be tested in the future.

Make sure to add tests for it. This is important so I don't break it in a future version unintentionally.
Please try not to mess with the Rakefile, version, or history. If you want to have your own version, or is otherwise necessary, that is fine, but please isolate to its own commit so I can cherry-pick around it.
