Operating system: Manjaro Linux
wxPython version & source: wxpython==4.0.4 installed from Manjaro repositories (Arch Linux binaries)
Python version & source: Python 3.7.2 installed from Manjaro repositories

Description of the problem:

When I run pywxrc with -g (gettext) option, I get the string representation of bytes objects, e.g.:

$ pywxrc -g songpress.xrc
_("b'Songpress'");
_("b'MyMenuBar'");
_("b'&File'");
...

If I use pywxrc of classic wxPython I get, correctly:

$ python2 -m wx.tools.pywxrc -g songpress.xrc
_("Songpress");
_("MyMenuBar");
_("&File");
...

This bug impacts on the generated .po files.
