Happened to me on a 32-bit VM of Windows 10 while debugging the "modern" version of Skype (has about 3500 rows in the memory map). Each update cycle took about 10 seconds, so there was basically a thread which updated the map in an infinite loop, without pauses.

Possible solutions/mitigations:

  • Adding an option to disable the periodic refresh.
  • Refreshing only when the memory map tab is open.

static TaskThread_<decltype(&memUpdateMap)> memUpdateMapTask(&memUpdateMap, 1000);
