Cannot configure extension in Firefox after logging in #132

Describe the issue you are experiencing
The browser extension presents configuration options only when not logged in.
Before logging in, the gear icon is available in the upper right. Clicking the gear icon allows configuration of sync settings, backup, restore, and enabling/disabling syncing. Once setting a sync ID and logging in, only the search prompt is available and no configuration or settings are accessible. Firefox no longer provides a "customize" or "options" button for extensions, leaving it up to the developer to provide one, so there is no longer any way to configure the extension after logging in.

Among other problems, this prevents temporary disabling of syncing during manual or automatic re-organization of bookmarks from occurring. Resultantly only a few bookmarks at a time may be moved between folders between each sync, with a failure to wait for the sync resulting in all local changes being overwritten with the changes after only a few of the bookmarks have been moved.

How can the issue be reproduced?

  1. Remove the extension from the browser
  2. Re-install the extension into the browser
  3. Click the browser extension icon to bring up the pop-out
  4. Skip all prompts until presented with the prompt for a new sync ID
  5. Notice the gear in the upper right corner, and click it
  6. View the settings that are available, then return to the sync
  7. Create a new sync ID, or enter an existing one to log in
  8. Click the browser extension icon to bring up the pop-out
  9. Notice the pop-out shows only half the search box, is not scrollable, and has no option or configuration button.

The screenshot represents how the pop-out has always looked in Firefox for the last 2 years of using the extension.
I assume there's something inaccessible in that pop out that would solve this problem, and there used to be a second way to access the options before Firefox eliminated it.
