Various minor typo and formatting fixes for parts of the specifications (I haven’t done everything thoroughly).

These don’t change the meaning of the specification, they are only
minor typo and formatting fixes from a bit of proofreading.

Well, running a spellchecker on the docs would be really useful - I haven't found one yet which doesn't freak out over Docbook XML markup though.

Thanks for the fixes (some of the typos are surprisingly consistent ^^) - what's your issue with "for example" vs. "e.g."?

There are also some old docs and formulations which shouldn't be in the spec anymore - nothing is wrong there, it just could be worded better now (one big issue in the past was that we didn't have the quickstart guides, so sometimes the actual spec and "how to use" recommendations are mixed).

Latin abbreviations are arcane and harder for non-native English speakers to parse.
