Unable to install xlwings 0.11.0

On Windows 7 with Python 2.7 x64, using pip install xlwings:

Try to install with pip install xlwings --user

Same error with that command. No problems if I force it to install 0.10.4.

do you have a previous version installed? then you should add --upgrade. by force you mean pip install xlwings==0.10.4?

I get the same message for 0.11.0 whether I'm using --upgrade or from a clean install. And yes, I meant pip install xlwings==0.10.4. From what I can tell the quickstart_standalone_mac.xlsm file didn't exist in that version so I think it's something specific to that (my colleague is having the same issue so I don't think it's a one-off). Can you try: pip install xlwings --no-binary :all:

I can't really see what's causing this as I can't replicate it. Can you try to unpack the tar.gz, then install manually doing:

cd xlwings
python setup.py install

I still get the same error. However, I also get some permission errors with quickstart_standalone_mac.xlsm and quickstart_standalone_win.xlsm. Once extracted, I can delete/rename/move them, but I can't copy and paste them to another location.

First I get this prompt:

And then when I click "Continue" (I'm an administrator and the referenced account is my own one - and the different font quality to the above image is not just a product of uploading it here, it's visible on-screen):

When I try and open them in Excel I get this:

There are no problems with quickstart.xlsm.

give 0.11.2 a try, I hope that this resolves it....

Thanks, but unfortunately none of the above issues are any different with 0.11.2.
