An XProc 3.0 specification workshop will take place in Aachen (a.k.a. Aix-la-Chapelle or Aken, and known by many other names) on Sept. 14 and 15, 2017.
LOGOI Institute for Philosophy and Discourse
Begin: Thu Sept 14, 14:00 (Venue opens at 13:00 for early bird coffee)
End: Fri Sept 15, 16:30
The detailed agenda will be discussed on a separate page in this Wiki.
Aachen can be reached from Paris and London by train in less than 4 hours. International tickets are available on https://www.b-europe.com/EN
It’s a 15–20 minutes’ walk from Aachen Hbf (main station) to LOGOI. The hotel (see below) is right on the way.
The closest international airports are Cologne, Düsseldorf, and Brussels.
The venue is in Aachen’s historic old town. Leave your car outside that area.
Hint: If you are in Oxford for XML Summer School, consider joining Norm on his trip to Aachen. The Eurostars leave London St Pancras at 6:47 BST and at 10:58 (Norm’s choice). You’ll change trains at Bruxelles Midi and arrive in Aachen Hbf at 11:36 and 15:36 CEST, respectively. Return journeys start at 16:21 or 17:23 and arrive at St Pancras at 19:57 or 21:03 BST.
Most of us stay in Hotel am Marschiertor. They don’t have an English site, unfortunately. If you are interested in a room (a single room is at € 85 incl. breakfast), please let Gerrit know and he’ll reserve it for you.
