Upgrading the application to 2.3.0 will cause it to not work anymore

This is because the application before 2.3.0 used the deprecated netflux and websocket integrations which need to be uninstalled. After uninstalling them, the xwiki instance needs to be restarted for the only office integration to work. This is because after uninstalling the deprecated apps, some components are removed. Those components shared hints with the official netflux and websocket integrations.
