ametsoc is now obsolete on CTAN

Package is obsolete on CTAN: https://www.ctan.org/pkg/ametsoc

We should probably remove it from our list ? How do you usually deal with this ?

Is that for backward compatibility of some tools that you need this ?

As obsolete branch on CTAN (https://www.ctan.org/pkg/obsolete) says

Files from CTAN, that are no longer in active use, are moved to this tree if they may be useful for reference purposes.

it seems to be only for reference.

For ametsoc, you could just download the zip file and put the .cls and .bst file locally.

You should open an new feature request to discuss this probably. This PR is only to remove from the list a package that is no more available on CTAN.
