I was downloading a vimeo video and the postprocessing failed. But I am sure that it's not really a problem with vimeo itself. And I have the newest ffmpeg.

Same problem here.

I've found a workaround by using "--prefer-free-formats", no postprocessing error.

The original format is pro-res but yt-dlp thinks it's an mp4. Forcing the file extension to mov should work around the issue

@pukkandan maybe I'm doing it wrong, but setting the extension doesn't work for me:

Same issue here, only the crash is generated by yt-dlp analyzing the "pcm_s16le / lpcm" codec (coming up with unsupported), and then writing incorrect codec parameters to the output header. Here's my dump ...

Found this open ticket after searching Google for "ERROR: Postprocessing: Stream #1:0 -> #0:1 (copy)". I am getting this on a vimeo video. It downloads, an m4a audio (which doesn't play) and then fails to merge.

My installation is up to date.
I tried updating FFMPEG for mac but for some reason it always shows "ffmpeg version 4.2.2-tessus" even though I replaced the package with v6.0 today.

--prefer-free-formats works to combine to an MKV, but this is not my desired output.
I am trying to download from Vimeo and most urls work fine to MP4, this one is an exception. So #4838, while functional, is not ideal, and I can't see what in #5308 is relevant as Vimeo does not have chapters like Youtube does.

Came back as I am still randomly getting these errors when trying to download from Vimeo.

Happens on step [Merger]

While I can merge to MKV that's absolutely not a long term solution. MKVs don't quicklook preview in either Windows or Mac, and I know that the original files uploaded to Vimeo were Mp4s, as are all of Vimeo's transcodes (all their various sizes and resolutions).

What could be a fix for this error please?
