I typed

$ brew install youtube-dl

and get error:

==> Downloading https://yt-dl.org/downloads/2015.05.10/youtube-dl-2015.05.10.tar.

curl: (22) The requested URL returned error: 404 Not Found
Error: Failed to download resource "youtube-dl"
Download failed: https://yt-dl.org/downloads/2015.05.10/youtube-dl-2015.05.10.tar.gz

Update your homebrew:

brew update

Version 2015.05.10 is way too old.
