Please follow the guide below

  • You will be asked some questions and requested to provide some information, please read them carefully and answer honestly
  • Put an x into all the boxes [ ] relevant to your issue (like that [x])

Make sure you are using the latest version: run youtube-dl --version and ensure your version is 2017.01.10. If it's not read this FAQ entry and update. Issues with outdated version will be rejected.

Before submitting an issue make sure you have:

What is the purpose of your issue?

  • Bug report (encountered problems with youtube-dl)
  • Site support request (request for adding support for a new site)
  • Feature request (request for a new functionality)
  • Question
  • Other

The following sections concretize particular purposed issues, you can erase any section (the contents between triple ---) not applicable to your issue

Used U.S IP

does not require authentication
plays fine on browser

still not able to download videos using youtube-dl

Nick.com should work when cc.com does(both use same source)
but nick.com still fails to download any video

I tried these commands
still no luck
--hls-prefer-native Use the native HLS downloader instead of ffmpeg
--hls-prefer-ffmpeg Use ffmpeg instead of the native HLS downloader
--hls-use-mpegts

Force HLS in nick.py
switch to m3u8/akamai from viacommtvstrmfs.fplive.net on all scripts

In 2017, all switched from fplive , update all the scripts to reflect changes

disable' import MTVServicesInfoExtractor' in nick.py
ComedyCentral now works after the recent commit ,apply the same to nick

@dstftw Have you tried to download
"http://www.nick.com/videos/clip/the-loud-house-101-full-episode.html" using youtube-dl ?

It keeps fetching viacommtvstrmfs.fplive.net urls which do not exist
fails to retrieve subs too

please provide ' alternative m3u8' as default
thanks
