I'd like to see an option where you could specify an amount of disk space that should remain free after a download, e. g. "--min-free 100M", a current free disk space of 150 MByte and a video size to download of 60 MByte would cause this download to be skipped.

I don't want to go that way. If there's not enough disk space, the user should know or a write operation would fail. That's all.
